Tasting Notes

Colour :Pale Straw.
Nose:The bouquet of this elegant Chardonnay displays white fleshed stone fruits and pear characters with underlying hints of oyster shell and flint adding complexity.
Palate:The palate is medium bodied offering white peach, pome fruits, citrus, and nougat. The fruit intensity and wonderful natural acidity combine with lovely texture derived from lees stirring with flavours persisting through to a lingering, moreish finish.
Cellaring Potential:While drinking well in its youth this wine will certainly reward with careful cellaring, developing further complexity from bottle maturation.

Viticulture

Varietal:Chardonnay (100%)
Vintage:2023
Region:Margaret River
Conditions:The growing season began with a late budburst due to a cold winter, followed by a cool, wet spring, resulting in an extended flowering period, with good fruit-set for most varieties. The lack of Marri blossom meant that bird pressure was extreme. Though ripening was delayed for most varieties, the very dry, mild summer offered perfect ripening conditions, allowing fruit to retain wonderful natural acidity.

Winemaking

Alcohol:13%
Bottle Size:750ml
pH:3.02
Winemaking Notes:Fruit was whole bunch pressed followed by 100%-barrel fermentation. Wild fermentation was encouraged, in order to introduce more complexity and personality into the wine. Barrels were lees stirred throughout a nine-month oak maturation period, without any malolactic fermentation. The final blend was put together in October 2023. This wine is made from qualifying grapes at a winery certified by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia

Our process is driven by a deep respect for the land, ensuring that we protect the integrity and potential of our region.
