2025 Vinework Chenin Blanc

This is our fifth Chenin Blanc release and is produced from a small parcel of fruit from a mature single vineyard in Yallingup subregion. The palate offers a wonderful array of pear and crunchy tropical fruits, which combine with a bright moreish acidity. A subtle saline, oystershell element also provides a great foil to the natural fruit sweetness.

Tasting Notes

Colour:Pale straw with slight green hue.
Nose:Vibrant lemon lime notes upfront on the nose, layered with fresh cut pear and hints of savoury oystershell complexity.
Palate:The fresh palate is driven by citrus fruits, quince and ginger notes. Lees stirring adds a moreish texture framed by bright acidity, driving the juicy fruit and subtle sea spray flavours through to a lingering finish

Viticulture

Varietal:Chenin Blanc (100%)
Vintage:2025
Region:Margaret River
Conditions:Winter was warm and dry at the beginning, with late rainfall in July. The growing season was warm and relatively dry with a few hot days dispersed throughout. Yields of white varieties were variable mainly due to a very warm, dry start to winter. Careful management in the vineyard to eliminate variability resulted in excellent fruit quality, and slightly lower acidity than usual.

Winemaking

Alcohol:13.0%
Bottle Size:750ml
pH:3.23
Winemaking Notes:PRODUCTION METHOD: The fruit was gently pressed without any crushing followed by 100%-barrel fermentation. Wild fermentation was encouraged to introduce more complexity without malolactic fermentation. The barrels were regularly lees stirred throughout a 9-month oak maturation period to build texture. The best barrels were selected for the final blend.

Our process is driven by a deep respect for the land, ensuring that we protect the integrity and potential of our region.
