Tasting Notes

Colour:Pale straw.
Nose:This fruit driven Chardonnay displays aromas of crunchy tropical fruits, fresh Meyer lemon and a subtle jasmine perfume.
Palate:A medium bodied palate with hints of grapefruit pith, ripe yellow stone fruits and wet slate complexity. The delicate creamy texture from lees stirring is balanced with lively acidity and a finish lingering in fruit flavour.
Cellaring:A fresh, fruit driven style best consumed in its youth, however certainly suitable for medium term cellaring.

Viticulture

Varietal:100% Chardonnay
Vintage:2025
Region:Margaret River
Conditions:Winter was warm and dry at the beginning, with late rainfall in July. The growing season was warm and relatively dry with a few hot days dispersed throughout. Yields of white varieties were variable mainly due to a very warm, dry start to winter (where a lot of Chardonnay didn’t get the chance to experience a proper winter dormancy). Careful management in the vineyard to eliminate variability resulted in excellent fruit quality, and slightly lower acidity than usual. Overall, 2025 will be remembered as another very good vintage in Margaret River, although extreme bird pressure (due to a lack of Marri blossom) presented challenges across the region, along with the variable yields.
